VASSALBORO, MAINE
Barbara L. Hammond - age 81, of Main Street, died Nov. 12, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME after a brief illness. She was born in Worcester, MA on April 4, 1937 the daughter of Richard L. Kent and Beatrice (MacDonald) Kent.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Hammond was employed as a customer service representative by L.L. Bean for many years.
Her husband, Charles B. Hammond, died on Nov. 12, 2015. She was also predeceased by a son, Craig Hammond, and a daughter, Heather Mayo.
Surviving are five sons: Chris Hammond and Kerry Hammond, both of Milton, NH, Brian Hammond of Minneapolis, MN, Jimmy Hammond of Vassalboro, ME and Scott Hammond of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Amy L. Hodgson of Somersworth, NH and Lisa Dore of New Durham, NH; two sisters, Constance Allison of Hudson, MA and Carol Sanborn of Shrewsbury, MA; two brothers, Alan Kent of Sutton, MA and Richard Kent of Worcester, MA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Thursday Nov. 15, 2018 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a funeral service will follow at 10 AM.
