AUGUSTA, MAINE
Pamela Selwood Drummond, of Augusta, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at the age of 74 on Friday, September 28th, 2018.
She was born to Arnold L. & Carrie (Flynn) Selwood on October 1, 1943 in Gardiner, Maine, the third of five children.
Pam was a graduate of Cony High School and also of the University of Maine in Augusta.
She was a longtime member and active with the choir at Green Street United Methodist Church in Augusta.
She is predeceased by her brother, Scott Owen Selwood, nephew Kevin Peter Selwood, and granddaughter Britta Idman Drummond.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert Ronald Drummond, and their beloved companion Lulu; her two children, Winona Robbins Kinsella and Carl Eric Robbins, as well as Dennis Drummond, Debbie Menard, Douglas Drummond, Dianne Michaud and Robert (Robbie) Drummond and all of their spouses; her remaining siblings, Suzanne Sousa, Peter Selwood, Dawn Hachey, and their spouses, as well as her sisters in law, Jean Selwood and Joan Pomerleau and husband.
Pamela had many beloved nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Her fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren were a constant source of joy.
Pam was a designer and decorator at Chernowsky's in Augusta, a teacher at Lawrence Middle School, and most recently an antiques dealer and proprietor of Memory Lane Antiques on outer Western Avenue.
As her husband, Bob, would say, "She loved anything that involved the use of the head or hands", using her passion for music, writing, cooking, entertaining, photography & history. Most notably though, Pam was a prolific and talented artist and was very generous with her skill.
She will be remembered in every nuance of every day by all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of her life.
Her family is very grateful for the skilled doctors and nurses of 2 West at MaineGeneral Medical Center's Alfond Center for Health, and for the care she received at Comfort Care at Glenridge in Augusta.
Her family is holding a memorial service at Green Street United Methodist Church in Augusta on Saturday, October 6th at 11:00 AM, followed by a joyful celebration in her honor in the community room downstairs at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
